E-risk: Kids faking identities for online fun

AHMEDABAD: Right from wrong. We teach children what this means in the physical world - in the classroom, playfield, or at home. But what about the virtual world? Over the past few weeks counsellors of some leading city schools have come across instances of unassuming teenagers masking their online identities to do things their parents would staunchly disapprove of.These activities include dealing in or doing drugs, spying on classmates or cyberbullying, or engaging in exhibitionism on webcams to grab attention.
